Don’t feel trapped the next time you’re in Las Vegas for business. You’re in Sin City! It’s America’s adult playground. Tear off those formal clothes, grab a drink and live a little. After all, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy. While gambling is definitely one of the most famous pastimes of Vegas, it’s definitely not the only way to cut loose and have fun while you’re there.

But here’s a word of warning—Las Vegas is designed to confuse. Glitzy lights and slot machine ding-sounds can have you discombobulated. Make sure that you’re armed with knowledge when you hit the town. Here are five uniquely fun things to do in Vegas on your downtime.

Hike

Pay attention to the passengers on your plane into Vegas. A third of them are partiers, a third of them are business people, and the last third are eco-travelers. People fly from all over the world to hike in places near Vegas, including Red Rock Canyon, The Valley of Fire, and the Colorado River as well as Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. All these areas are within close range of Vegas, and they are destinations well worth a visit if you are a lover of the outdoors.

Walk The Strip

Avis says that a sunny day or a warm evening spent along the infamous Vegas Strip is easily one of the best ways to experience the city’s diverse culture and a wide variety of unique experiences. It’ll also help orient you to the confusing labyrinth of casinos. Don’t be afraid to grab a drink because it’s legal out on the strip, and remember to tip any performers that you take a selfie with.

Golf

Vegas is full of beautiful golf courses. There is one at the Wynn and there’s a new Top Golf hiding behind the MGM. The constate desert weather ensures there’ll be a perfect day to play. Golf Digest recommends taking your golf bag to Bali Hai Golf Club, Bear’s Best Las Vegas, Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, Angel Park, Royal Links Golf Club, and more.

Catch A Show Or Game

The Vegas Golden Knights are the first major league sports team in Sin City. They’ll quickly be followed by the Raiders. And bigtime games are always being played at UNLV and The Orleans Hotel. You can also catch a variety of performance shows on the strip that run every night of the week.

Walking the Vegas strip can help you understand the often confusing layout of Sin City. Once you have a mental map, it’s time to take advantage of all that Vegas has to offer. Don’t forget to book your tickets for the Rockstar Auto Conference coming up October 14–15 in Vegas!
