At 4:32 in the morning and I’m only slightly tired as I write this. I should be tired right? Interestingly though…I’m not.

I see so many people post about how they wake up early to ‘rise and grind’ and sometimes I ask myself if I’m not being productive enough because I go to sleep late and wake up late, but then I remembered an article I read a few years back about someone who used biphasic sleep and another guy who used polyphasic sleep to stay productive.

You can check out info on polyphasic sleep here https://lifehacker.com/how-to-stay-productive-on-a-4-to-6-hour-sleep-cycle-1477407799

What I’ve realized with sleep is like everything else. No two people are alike. Obviously your employer’s hours of operation come into consideration if you’re not an entrepreneur but if you own your own business, or have a flexible schedule, you may want to take a look at biphasic and polyphasic sleep ideas with the link above.

At the end of the day, if you’re feeling like you don’t sleep well, or you’re over sleeping, consider using a tool to measure your sleep patterns with an app like Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock from apples App Store for the iPhone. You can get it by clicking here.

For years we have been taught that we need a solid eight hours of sleep but articles like the one above may be showing us that eight hours is overrated. I’d love to hear your comments.
